Lots of November Birthdays!

I needed to make another birthday card for a dear friend of mine. We were roommates in college and our birthdays are only 3 days apart...mine's the 14th and hers is the 17th. We used to always celebrate our birthdays together. But, now that we live almost 10 hours away from each other, that's not the easiest thing to do.

I used Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge #26, I haven't done one of her sketch challenges in awhile so I went for it! I really love the Fall Flowers Designer Series Paper and planned my card around that gorgeous paper.

I started with a 5-1/2" x 11" piece of Really Rust cardstock, folded in half. I then sponged the edges with Really Rust ink. This is probably one of my least favorite colors but since I decided to go with this paper, I did not have much of a choice. I took a 5" x 4-1/2" piece of Old Olive cardstock and stamped it with my Linen Background stamp using Old Olive ink and then sponged the edges with the same. On top of that, I placed a 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" piece of Fall Flowers Designer Series Paper and tied a piece of Chocolate Chip Taffeta Ribbon around the left side of it. Next, I took a 3-1/2" x 2-1/2" piece of Soft Sky cardstock and sponged the edges with Chocolate Chip ink. I used the 'Happy Birthday' stamp from Amazing-to-Zany and stamped it with Chocolate Chip ink. For the flowers, I needed daisies to match the paper so I used Petal Prints (even though it's retired, I still love it!). I stamped them with Timber Brown Staz On ink and then used my Aquapainter to color them in with Really Rust ink, Soft Sky ink, and Chocolate Chip ink. I cut them out and popped them up with Stampin' Dimensionals. I finished the card of with Vintage Brads.

Thanks for looking!
