My 1st Mother's Day...

was a very special one. Matter of fact, the whole weekend was wonderful. On Saturday, my husband and daughter took me to Outback Steakhouse for dinner and then we made a special trip to Michael's to pick up my gift...a Cuttlebug and a few embossing folders. Yep, I got the itch and was bitten ;) I'm so thrilled actually, what a neat new toy for my craft room! On Sunday morning, we had Addison dedicated at church. Then afterwards, we had a picnic under the big oak trees at a State Park in the area. My husband packed our lunch and gave a bouquet of my favorite - sunflowers! He even managed to sneak a vase along and didn't bring it out until the picnic was all set up, it was cute. It was really a perfect first Mother's Day and I couldn't have asked for anything more.

Here are the Mother's Day cards that I made for our Moms and Grandmothers:

Stamps: Baroque Motifs

Paper: Lovely Lilac, Pretty in Pink, Berry Bliss DS

Ink: Versamark, White Staz On

Accessories: Light Pink Gingham Ribbon, Antique Brass HPH, Ice Rhinestones, Embossing Powder

I had originally tried to do last week's SCS color challenge, which was Lovely Lilac, Pretty in Pink, and Certainly Celery. But, as you can tell, I couldn't find a way to work the Celery into this card. I tried and tried and just didn't like anything that I had come up with. So, I just went with the 2 colors and I'm happy with the end product. I hope they are too!

Hopefully you all enjoyed a nice Mother's Day too. Thanks for stopping by! Check back soon to see what has been keeping me so busy this week :)
